Senior Game Engineer

Full-time, Part-time, Hourly, Commission | Remote

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement, and own scalable gameplay systems and core architecture
  • Lead development of complex features from concept to release and iteration
  • Establish and enforce technical standards, code quality, and best practices
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across networking, memory, and frame performance
  • Collaborate with design to scope, refine, and deliver technically sound features
  • Improve and maintain the overall health, structure, and scalability of the codebase
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team
  • Review code, technical designs, and ensure high-quality execution across all systems
  • Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Luau & Roblox Studio
  • Strong understanding of math and physics in the context of game development
  • Experience designing and shipping systems in live-service games
  • Knowledge of performance optimization (networking, replication, memory, frame performance)
  • Ability to architect maintainable and scalable systems while writing clean and efficient code
  • Highly self-motivated with strong ownership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with open-source libraries and frameworks ( e.g. Charm, Fusion, Vide )
  • Experience working on live Roblox games with active player bases
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
  • Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers on a team
  • Experience contributing to large codebases
  • Compensation

  • Compensation: $40 → $50/hour, depending on qualifications ($83,200-$104,000/year full-time)
